THE FRUIT OF THE GOSPEL

(1) Policeman on Left receives Christ
(2) Sarah Accepted Christ
Praise God many are receiving Christ as savior! (1) This policemen came with Amgaa to hear the gospel in our office. (2) Sarah asked to hear the gospel during our Exodus seminar. She is the building manager. The family below was restored recently after over a decade of alcoholism when the father came back home. He accepted Christ to in our office. We shared Christ with three students including a law student, university and high school student. All three accepted Christ as savior. We are sharing the gospel in large settings as well as personally. GSM is about to publish  a gospel booklet created specifically for Mongolia. It begins with Genesis (who God is and who we are) and ends in Revelation. It takes about forty five minutes and the Lord has opened a wide door for the gospel before us. Praise God!

SHARING THE GOSPEL IN REMOTE LOCATIONS

On June 13th we traveled nine hours to the remote Ovorkhangai area to share the gospel with Bayarmaa's shepherd family. Her eighty year old grandfather will be dead by the end of summer from cancer and liver disease. (Bottom) The valley leading to their home included a large lava canyon. The beautiful green valley was filled with Yaks, horses, sheep and goats. (Left) The father and daughter sitting and dressed in red and blue accepted Christ. The family standing behind sat cross-legged right in front of us listening intently as we shared the good news. They will make their decision for Christ as a family.

JEAN NYSTRAND AND SHIRLEY MILLS IN MONGOLIA

Mother's day out with Jean & Shirley
GSM Leadership meeting with Jean & Shirley

Sunday School Teacher training with Jean Nystrand
Mother’s Day Out: The mothers who attended our afternoon out learned parenting from Jean Nystrand. They had many questions regarding child rearing and relationships with their husbands. Jean is providing additional material for them and suggested they form a small group.
Sunday School Teaching Seminar: Jean’s teaching on Bible story-telling as a Sunday school teaching method was greatly appreciated. She began with Genesis and provided the teachers with a lot of good material for their classes.

Pastor’s Wives Retreat: Thirty six pastor’s wives attended GSM’s retreat with Shirley Mills and Jean Nystrand. This represents 10% of all the pastor wives in Mongolia. GSM’s retreat the last two years is the only retreat the wives have attended. Through these events GSM has ministered to pastor’s wives who are alone, tired and very often depressed. Jean Nystrand shared a course on parenting and gave the ladies translated material for use with small groups covering other life skills. Shirley inspired the ladies with lessons on how to have joy in the Lord through life’s struggles. We have since spoken with the pastor’s wives and everyone expressed how much they were encouraged, uplifted and strengthened. They really needed this retreat! These events have strengthened unity among the churches and improved the lives of these dedicated Godly women.

Exodus Seminar: We held a successful Exodus seminar for the week of June 7th with Dr. Hoffmeier. Dr. Hoffmeier is an Egyptian-born Egyptologist who focuses on archeology as it intersects with Israel and the Bible. The whole Mongolian Bible translation team attended as well as other leaders throughout the week. Our evenings were opened to the public and many attended to see and hear from Dr. Hoffmeier how the Bible stories are being revealed through archeology. We were told by many of the leaders who met with Dr. Hoffmeier that his teaching was such an encouragement to folks and they repeatedly asked if he would return.

THE BECKETT FAMILY

The Beckett family is transitioning back to Texas. Kimberly is interviewing for a job and Eva is preparing for school. We are staying with family for the time being. Please pray for us as we need God's provision and blessing to re-integrate. David will begin two month rotations between Mongolia and Texas. While in Texas David will use an internet video portal to continue our mentoring model and work efforts. Through this portal GSM will leverage the folks and resources of our Texas community (especially our sending church Currey Creek) in our ongoing work. This work includes Sunday school teacher training, ministry leader's mentorship, women/men/youth discipleship, teaching bible study method, Christian leadership development, pastor's wives mentorship, mission and ministry planning and coordination, etc.

GSM NEEDS YOUR HELP

In December we raised half of our annual projected budget of $120,000 for 2015. We need your support to continue through the second half of this year. Please see the following needs and ask God about partnering financially in the Good Shepherd’s Ministry in Mongolia.

I AM IN TEXAS THROUGH AUGUST 23 SEEKING MONTHLY FINANCIAL PARTNERS FOR CHRIST'S MINISTRY IN MONGOLIA THROUGH GSM.

CALL ME AT (210)391-2778 OR EMAIL ME AT DAVID@GSMMONGOLIA.COM
INVITE ME TO SHARE WHAT CHRIST IS DOING IN MONGOLIA.

  1. Gospel story booklet: GSM has a very effective method of sharing the gospel in Mongolia. It begins with Genesis and moves through Revelations and takes forty-five minutes. The underlying theme is the redemption of God’s family through God’s own son Jesus Christ. It speaks very effectively to Mongolians who have never read the Bible and do not know the person of God or of Christ Jesus. We are creating the booklet to help others share the gospel. Please help us with the cost of publishing and distribution. We also need to purchase Bibles as we wish to buy Bibles for all those who are accepting Christ. ($5 per bible) ($1 per two Gospel booklets)
  2. Insulate Anna’s Home orphanage children’s bedroom walls from the cold at Anna’s Home orphanage in Dornod. We have a university team of international students coming from Korea in late August to join our GSM team in making sure these twenty-three children stay warm during the -40 or colder temperatures during winter. ($4,800)
  3. Legal research this summer to figure out why the Government of Mongolia will not allow Christian Schools in Mongolia to operate legally even though their constitution guarantees freedom of religion. ($4,000)
  4. Dornod GSM outreach: in late July. Our GSM team of seven will join the Korean university team to work on Anna’s Home. We will jointly hold a youth camp for the Dornod churches. ($1,500)
  5. Uuvs and Hovt GSM outreach: in mid September. We have been invited to carry out some discipleship with the churches located in the far West of Mongolia. ($1,500)
  6. Teacher’s workshop in late September. This workshop will kick off a long-term certification program we are designing with our Mongolian partners. The certification program will greatly help the church in Mongolia by providing a training program for their Sunday school teachers. This certification program will include biblical literacy, theological framework, curriculum design and teaching method. ($5,000) This amount will cover the workshop and give us a good start with the ongoing certification work.
  7. Guitar donation: We need a good guitar for our office as we do a lot of discipleship throughout the week. We would like an acoustic guitar with a plug-in. (Guitar)
  8. Monthly support for GSM's Mongolian staff and office: We currently have four staff and a small office.  With ($6,000 monthly) we can grow our team to seven full time folks. Our model is one of Christian mentorship in a full-time work environment. Our mission is Christian community development in Mongolia. Our passion is sharing Christ and growing God's family.
  9. Monthly support for GSM: Become a financial partner and be involved in GSM's mission as God's family, Christ's church and the kingdom of heaven grow in Mongolia. I am in the States through August 23.  Please invite me to share our vision and ministry as I seek partners for Christ's ministry in Mongolia through GSM. Go to our website www.gsmmongolia.com and become a partner today. Your investment will bring an eternal return. We need you!
